Haunted Sea Songs of Bahia:Volume 1

The first volume of Preston Swirnoff's solo project 'Haunted Sea Songs of Bahia', inspired by the folk music of the legendary Brazilian composer Dorival Caymmi. The recordings are raw, stripped down performances, with Swirnoff on classical guitar, singing in Portuguese; mostly recorded live with no multi-tracking or overdubs. Recommended for those who like dreamy, dark, otherworldly songs about the sea, the stars, and lost fishermen.

The legendary ballad written by Caymmi, with lyrics by the great novelist and poet Jorge Amado.

Side B: Lamento do Gaviero / Lookout's Lament
